Early training as a Lithographic Artist provided the opportunity to study Photography,Lithography,Lettering,Layout and General Graphic Design at Leeds College of Art. Whilst he is best known for his delightful studies of flowers and in particular Wild Flowers growing in their natural surroundings, his recent series showing some of the ANCIENT ABBEYS in his native county of Yorkshire are proving very popular. His Sculptures show the influence he received whilst at Leeds College of Art and the link with nature, in the subtle shapes and flowing lines, are a quick reminder that Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth had a great deal of influence at that time. His recent 'one man' exhibitions at Wakefield and The Darton Gallery, Yorkshire, included many of his mixed media works and show a bold and imaginative use of colour to show off the textures of the wood and metal. Many Sculptures and Paintings have been exhibited throughout Great Britain and several of his works have been sold to Canada, The USA, France, Germany, Russia and the West Indies. His latest Sculpture 'Merlin's Challenge' has been well received and it is expected that the Limited Edition of 150 will soon echo his former Limited Editions by selling out within a few months.
